How many jobs are too many?
Ok so here is the story. I have started my career in 2013. Since then I have had 5 different jobs. I never stayed for more than 2 years at a company, yet I was always able to increase my salary by at least 15%. I am always casually looking around for new opportunities. That said, I work in sales so it is pretty common to switch let's say every 3 to 5 years. However, lately, I have been getting a lot of rejections and I think that it is a mix of the general Corona virus situation, the fact that I have been at the current job for just 10 months (yes, I know that is not very long) and two recruiters have flat out said to me that I have switched many times.

I had to leave my previous job because the company acquired another company and there were too many people and not enough positions. So for the last switch, three was a definite reason. Overall, I have the feeling that people look at me weird when I tell them how often I have switched jobs. One colleague even told me that I am a very opportunistic person and I should stay for some years otherwise it will make me look bad. I refuse to buy into this BS. If there is a company willing to hire me for more money then that is their decision. The comment of the colleague really made me think and I wonder if there are more people “like me” out there that have had many jobs in the last 7 years but also always increased their salary?
For obvious reasons, I wanted to post this on here and not LinkedIn.
